Pingtung University of Science and Technology
not only has been cultivating outstanding agricultural professionals,
but has written a new chapter of science and technology for agriculture.

With the assistance of Council of Agriculture, Pingtung University of Science and Technology has gradually become an important base for Taiwan’s agricultural development in science and technology.

Making efforts in science and technology, the faculty members and students in the Departments of Forestry, Aquaculture, and Civil Engineering have created new values in agriculture.

They use optical radar and drones to detect and obtain forest data, so as to rehabilitate forest land. Moreover, they use thin films to control the spectral wavelength to shorten crop growth time, and to regulate vegetable supply and demand.

In addition, they use cocoa shells and banana peels to make health feed, which improves the survival rate of Thai shrimp by 40%, solves the problem of agricultural waste, and promotes a benign circular economy.

The university not only has written a new chapter for agricultural science and technology, but has been actively educating and cultivating outstanding agricultural professionals for the world!
