Joy on the farms of Taiwan Episode 9: Agrotechnicians

This video introduces the “agrotechnicians” program of the COA, which aims to alleviate the rural labor shortage by adding new manpower and expanding the scope of services. Since its implementation, 400 young farmers have returned home to Chiayi, making it the only rural community in Taiwan to show an increase in population. These young farmers, who have great enthusiasm for agriculture, begin to work as “agrotechnicians” after they graduate, and learn from farm owners the special nature and cultivation methods for crops, and also learn about grafting and seedlings. Through continual learning, they can contribute to Taiwan agriculture.
