The Institute has marine fishery, aquaculture, aquatic product processing and planning & information such four sections; there are also freshwater aquaculture, marineculture, coastal and offshore resources, Tungkang biotechnology, eastern marine biology and Penghu marine biology such five research centers. Meanwhile, there are Aquatic Experimental No. 1, Haifu , Haijian and Haan such fishery experimental ships to cooperate with various research works. The aquatic germplasm bank and genetic modified aquatic products field isolation facilities are further built to actively conduct marine fishery, aquaculture, aquatic product processing such related research fields and engaging in technological promotion and information services through work division of different units.
